GRASS SEED FAQ
Will it grow in my area?
Yes. It grows in all 50 states in the US, all provinces in Canada, and all other climates around the world.
When is the best time of year to plant grass?
Fall - then Early Spring
Do I have to tear up my lawn?
No, you do not have to tear up your lawn. Just cut the lawn short, rake away the clippings, and spread the seeds along with some organic fertilizer to help start the seeds. Our seed out competes the existing grass and most weeds if it’s mowed 3.5 inches tall. Water the grass for three weeks (every day it does not rain). Do not skip a day. Cut back on the water slowly over the next few weeks.
When do I cut the grass?
You cut it only once a month in sunny areas or every 6 weeks in shady areas. You will save 30 hours per summer on mowing. You will also save 3/4 on your water bill and you’ll have the nicest lawn in the neighborhood.
How much lawn does a bag cover?
A 10lb bucket covers 1200 to 2,000 square feet.
When does this grass seed pay back and what are my savings?
Pays back cost of seed in as little as 3 weeks from dramatic savings in mowing, water, and using less organic fertilizer.
How long before it sprouts and how long before I have a nice lawn?
Our grass seed sprouts in 7 to 10 days like any grass. It will grow an inch high and look thick, dark green, barefoot soft, and gorgeous in the first month. Finally, it grows very very slow after that. So you either cut it once every 4-6 weeks or do not cut it at all and let it lean over to be a no mow 3-4 inch high meadow.
Can my dog/cat/horse/cow/goat eat this?
Our grass seed is all natural and non-GMO. It is healthy and harmless and good for dogs and cats to nibble on (if only a small part of the diet). However, it will give foraging animals (animals whose whole diet is only grass like cows, horses, goats and wild deer) a mild stomachache.
